Terms & Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions explain how customers may use thecolorlabco.com, purchase custom tie-dye kits, and request event services from The Color Lab.
Effective date: June 19, 2026
Welcome to The Color Lab. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your access to and use of thecolorlabco.com, including any pages, forms, interactive features, products, custom tie-dye kits, checkout functions, event inquiries, and related services offered through this website. Throughout these Terms, “The Color Lab,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to The Color Lab, and “you” or “your” refers to any visitor, customer, purchaser, account holder, or person using this website.
By using this website, placing an order, submitting a contact form, downloading a virtual design, requesting event information, or completing checkout, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or place an order.
1. Website use
You may use this website for lawful personal, family, school, organizational, or business planning purposes. You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit false information, copy site materials for commercial resale, or use the website in a way that violates applicable law or harms The Color Lab, other customers, or third parties.
2. Product descriptions and custom kit options
The Color Lab sells custom tie-dye kits assembled from the options selected by the customer. Product details may include shirt quantities, shirt sizes, dye colors, optional add-ons, event notes, and other order-specific selections. We make reasonable efforts to describe products, pricing, colors, quantities, and options accurately. However, actual dye color, finished shirt appearance, fabric texture, saturation, pattern results, and wash outcome can vary based on technique, water temperature, fabric handling, rinsing, curing time, washing method, and customer use.
Images, interactive previews, website graphics, and virtual tie-dye designs are provided for general inspiration. They are not a guarantee that a finished shirt will look exactly like a screen preview, sample image, or downloaded virtual design.
3. Customer responsibility for selections
You are responsible for reviewing your order before checkout, including shirt count, shirt sizes, dye colors, add-ons, shipping information, contact information, special notes, and total price. Because custom kits are assembled based on your selections, changes may not be possible after an order enters preparation or fulfillment.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and may change without notice. The price charged for an order is the price shown at checkout when the order is submitted, subject to any correction of obvious errors. Taxes, shipping charges, handling charges, or other applicable fees may be added during checkout.
Payment must be authorized and successfully processed before an order is prepared or shipped. We may decline, cancel, or hold an order if payment is not completed, payment appears unauthorized, fraud screening indicates a concern, required information is missing, or we are unable to fulfill the order as submitted.
5. Order acceptance and cancellation
An order confirmation email means we received your order request. It does not guarantee that every item, option, or event request is accepted or available. We reserve the right to cancel or refund an order if the product is unavailable, the order contains an error, the requested timeline is not feasible, payment cannot be verified, shipping information is incomplete, or fulfillment would be unsafe, unlawful, or impractical.
If you need to request a change or cancellation, contact us as soon as possible through the Contact Us page. We will review the request, but we cannot guarantee changes or cancellation after custom preparation begins.
6. Shipping, delivery, and delays
Shipping and delivery information is provided on the Shipping Policy page and during checkout when available. Processing and transit times are estimates and may vary based on order size, product availability, carrier schedules, weather, holidays, and other factors outside our control.
We will make reasonable efforts to ship orders within the stated processing timeframe. If a shipping delay occurs, we may contact you with updated information. Please review your shipping address carefully before submitting an order. The Color Lab is not responsible for delays, failed delivery, or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete customer-provided shipping information.
7. Refunds, returns, and custom products
Refund and return details are provided in our Refund and Returns Policy. Because custom tie-dye kits are assembled according to customer-selected sizes, colors, quantities, and add-ons, returns or exchanges may be limited. This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable law for products that arrive damaged, materially incorrect, or otherwise eligible for a remedy.
8. Event inquiries and on-site services
The Color Lab may offer or consider on-site tie-dye activities, group events, birthday parties, school activities, company events, and other local Richmond-area services. Submitting an event inquiry does not create a confirmed booking. Event details, availability, pricing, travel area, guest count, timing, setup needs, cleanup expectations, weather considerations, venue permissions, deposit requirements, and cancellation terms must be confirmed by The Color Lab before an event is considered booked.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the event location permits tie-dye activities, water use, setup space, and any supplies needed for the activity. Customers are also responsible for appropriate adult supervision at children’s events.
9. Safety, supervision, and use of supplies
Tie-dye activities can involve dye, water, fabric, gloves, bottles, bags, rubber bands, table covers, and other supplies. Supplies should be used only as directed and should be kept away from misuse by children or pets. Children should participate only with appropriate adult supervision. Dye and craft materials may stain skin, clothing, surfaces, floors, furniture, vehicles, sinks, tubs, washing machines, or other property.
By purchasing or using a kit, you agree to follow the included instructions, use reasonable care, protect surfaces, wear appropriate clothing and gloves, supervise children, and avoid using the supplies in an unsafe manner. The Color Lab is not responsible for staining, surface damage, misuse, failure to follow instructions, or results caused by handling outside our control.
10. Allergies, sensitivities, and fabric concerns
Customers are responsible for reviewing whether tie-dye supplies, shirt materials, gloves, packaging, or related items are appropriate for the people using them. If anyone participating has allergies, skin sensitivities, respiratory concerns, chemical sensitivities, or fabric restrictions, consult a qualified professional before using craft supplies. Discontinue use if irritation or discomfort occurs.
11. Interactive tie-dye tool and downloadable designs
The interactive tie-dye page is provided for entertainment, inspiration, and planning. Downloaded designs are for personal use and event planning. You may not sell, license, redistribute, or claim ownership over The Color Lab website tools, graphics, code, branding, templates, or generated interface elements. A downloaded virtual design does not guarantee a specific physical tie-dye outcome.
12. Intellectual property
The website, page layouts, text, graphics, logos, designs, images, interactive features, product names, and other content are owned by or licensed to The Color Lab unless otherwise stated. You may view and use the website for personal shopping, planning, and informational purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, scrape, sell, or use our website content for commercial purposes without written permission.
13. Customer content and communications
If you submit notes, messages, reviews, photos, designs, feedback, or other content to The Color Lab, you confirm that you have the right to share that content and that it is accurate, lawful, and does not violate the rights of others. You give The Color Lab permission to use customer feedback, non-private suggestions, and voluntarily submitted content to respond to your request, fulfill your order, improve our services, and, when separately authorized, share customer creations for promotional purposes.
14. Privacy
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information submitted through the website, checkout, contact forms, and related services. Please review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.
15. Third-party links and services
This website may include links to third-party websites, payment processors, shipping providers, education resources, or other outside services. Third-party websites and services are not controlled by The Color Lab. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, availability, security, accuracy, or practices. Accessing third-party websites is at your own risk.
16. No professional advice
Website content, dye tips, event suggestions, and care instructions are provided for general informational and craft-planning purposes. They are not professional, medical, safety, legal, or textile-manufacturing advice. You are responsible for deciding whether a kit, event, technique, or supply is appropriate for your intended use.
17. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” The Color Lab does not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times. We do not guarantee that tie-dye results will match photos, previews, examples, or expectations because final results depend on many factors outside our control.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Color Lab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost business, event disruption, or property damage arising from website use, order delays, customer misuse, staining, failure to follow instructions, or use of custom kits. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
19. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Color Lab from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website, violation of these Terms, inaccurate information you submit, violation of another person’s rights, unsafe use of supplies, or failure to follow instructions.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute related to these Terms, this website, purchases, or services will be handled in the appropriate courts or forums serving Virginia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
22. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be submitted through our Contact Us page. For order-specific questions, include your name, email address, and order number if available.
